I would probably talk to my parents differently than I would my classmates, and my classmates differently than a younger relative, but an anime character that acted in generally the same way in all three of those situations wouldn't really be considered "unrealistic". Although this does make me wonder what a <i>truly</i> realistic anime character would be like.
