Weird? Not really, in some visual novels the Hentai part seems more tacked on to be able to placed in the gene of eroge then an actual part of the plot. Take Utawarerumono, all of the hentai scenes in that game do not only feel awkward, you are able to take all of them out of the game with zero adjustments and still have the exact same game. The scenes are more distracting then anything else, as there is no plot at all involving them. The only exception is perhaps Kagura's scene.

Little Busters! is in the same league. Heck, the game started out as a non-H game to begin with, showing that it's perfectly doable to have a game with the same romantic impact without tacking on hentai scenes.

Funny, I did the same thing to my HCG packs, though I'm still not quite sure why >_>

People keep asking me why I write fanfics. The answer I always give is that it’s an addiction: rather than being addicted to nicotine or caffeine or the Internet, I pretty much have to write. It’s that, or my head asplode.

Is that like how some guys masturbate ever so often to keep away the wet dreams?

. . . and carefully removing all the H parts. Possibly this defeats the purpose . . .

No, I think it's a rather stimulating idea. Like reading only the scholarly introductions to a set of novels, or that short story of Ballard's that consists entirely of an index (not, I hasten to add, a certain magical one).
