Shizuma references something about chasing after two rabbits when one is enough, which I think is the same as the “bird in the hand” proverb. (For those unfamiliar with it, the idea is that if you’re too greedy, you’ll lose whatever you already have.) I always thought "bird in the hand" referred more to being happy with what you already have instead of chasing after something you don't. From what I recall, Shichinin no Nana (Seven of Seven) had an episode where Nana misunderstood the rabbit proverb, and the dub translated it as the "You can't have your cake and eat it, too" proverb.
