Just finished watching an early sub of it. First indications are that it's a worthy first episode, and shows promise. As for the new character, I couldn't help but be reminded of the Gitan series of creatures from Monster Rancher: cactun, coltan, gitan, maestan, oltan, ootan (pictures from MR3, the only one I actually played).
