Yes, it’s another Animania advertisement post. The next screening is on the 10th of March 2006, from 1600h to 2359h. The next screening after this (and the last for the semester) is on April 17th. Admission is, as always, utterly and thoroughly free, and the club supports itself mostly by raffle tickets and sheer bloody-mindedness.

Once again, the views expressed in here are entirely mine, and not associated in any way, shape, or form with the official stance of the club. I’m pretty much doing this because a) every little bit of advertisement helps, and b) I’m out of ideas for blog topics.

Given a choice between this and a screencap of Hidamari Sketch with “moe~ moe~ moe~” as the sole caption, I think this counts as having relatively more substance.

1600h - Shounen Onmyouji episodes 1-3 (ANN entry)

As far as I can tell, the main character, Masahiro, is the grandson of an incredibly powerful onmyouji, and is expected to become as powerful himself… except that he appears to have no talent in this, and especially can’t see any spirits, which appears to be an essential skill. Thanks to a little wolf-rat-spirit thing named Mokkun (well, Masahiro named him Mokkun, but his real name will be revealed sometime near the end of the first episode), Masahiro learns that all this is due to his grandfather sealing off his spirit sight or something. And now, he gets to go fight monsters.

Or something.

I dunno; this is, based on the first three episodes, a very shounen show with the protagonist learning How To Be Stronger and all that. It’s not really my thing, not least of which is because there haven’t been very many cute girls around.

1715h - Busou Renkin episodes 7-9 (ANN entry)

Going full swing into the next story arc, we have CAPTAIN BRAVO in his COOL TRENCHCOAT versus the EVIL LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN ELECTS in their POSTMODERNIST YET RETRO FASHION or something like that. Will Bravo’s silver trenchcoat be a match for Moonface’s coattails? Can his tricorne hat withstand the assault of Papillon’s crotch butterfly? Who will win this sartorial battle? HOW MANY CAPITAL LETTERS WILL BE USED?

Oh, and there’s something about Kazuki and kendo or something.

1830h - Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo episodes 1-3 (ANN entry)

Mamoru Yoshimura, who looks far too young to be anywhere near high school, meets Ayako Takasu, who falls in love with him at more or less first sight. Ayako happens to be one of the strongest users of Beatrice (a sort of magical power source) in the world, and standing in the way of their inevitable happy resolution is the well-meaning but meddlesome obscenely rich Student Council.

It’s like Ah! My Goddess with tsundere. Except that Ayako is all dere-dere to Mamoru and tsun-tsun to everyone else, which works out pretty well.

2045h - Ouran High School Host Club episodes 20-23 (ANN entry)

Ouran goes into its last mini-arc with the reverse harem. There’s not really a lot I can say about it without spoiling the rest, so I’ll just leave it at that.

2220h - Raffle

Considering most of the staff members haven’t a clue what sort of raffle prizes we’ll be giving away until the day of the screening itself, it’s just as much the luck of the draw for us as for the audience.

2230h - Death Note episodes 7-9 (ANN entry)

No, I still don’t have any Death Note screenshots. Nor do I particularly care what happens in these episodes.

In case Viz decides to suddenly send us a Cease-and-Desist for the screening, we’ll be falling on the backup of Sumomo mo Momo mo. I’m trying not to think about the audience reaction when they come expecting a dark psychological murder anime and get something about making babies.
